Active Voice - When a sentence follows standard order as Subject Verb Object where subject acts on the object, it is an active voice.
Eg. Sohan ate mango.

Here Soham is the subject or actor of the action 'eating'. mango is the object on which action is taken place.

In case of passive voice- the placement of the subject-verb-object changes. Object take the first place, however the actor remains the same. So the order becomes Object-Verb- Subject.

eg. The mango was eaten by Soham.

Here the sentence begins with the object. verb is changed to its third form and is supported by an auxiliary form so we get 'was eater' and then the subject is added by a conjunction 'by'.

Active Voice:

SUBJECT carries out some action (VERB) on the OBJECT directly.

Ram drank coffee

Subject - Ram
Object - Coffee
Verb - drink

Passive Voice:
Some action(Verb) is carried out on the SUBJECT by the OBJECT

Coffee was drunk by Ram.

Subject - Coffee
Object - Ram
Verb - drank

Active voice is most commonly used

Passive voice is used when you want to give importance to the thing the VERB is doing instead of who or what is doing that action
