Puberty is the period in our life when the sex organs mature and other physical changes occur so that we develop into men and women. At puberty, a girl's ovaries  mature and her menstrual cycle begins. Her breasts develop and her hips widen. Body hair develops under the arms and in the groin area. Her voice becomes lower.  Boys and girls start to lose their 'puppy fat. At puberty, a boy's penis and testes get larger and he starts producing sperm. His body shape changes and his torso gets  larger. He can grow a beard and his body hair becomes thicker, particularly under his arms and in the groin area. is voice box (larynx) develops and his voice gets deeper, or 'breaks.
