There has been some historical controversy surrounding the invention of the telephone. While Alexander Graham Bell is credited with the first successful patent for the telephone in 1876, there were other inventors working on similar devices around the same time, notably Elisha Gray. However, Bell's patent was granted first, securing his place in history as the inventor of the telephone.
Alexander Graham Bell invented Telephone,a Scottish-born Canadian-American inventor, scientist and engineer who is credited with patenting the first practical telephone. He also co-founded the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) in 1885.
Alexander Graham Bell is the father of the telephone. After all it was his design that was first patented, however, he was not the first inventor to come up with the idea of a talking telegraph.
