About Us
The Air Force School (TAFS) was established in temporary wartime hutments at Wellingdon Camp, Club Road, New Delhi on 18 July 1955 with the aim of providing comprehensive modern education to children of personnel of the Indian Air Force. In May 1967, the school shifted to its present Aravali Campus at Subroto Park, Delhi Cantt. The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1980. The School is situated on the Aravali ridge - amidst picturesque surroundings - lined by rows of majestic Eucalyptus and Ashoka trees. In the 15 acre area of the school, there are numerous varieties of Bougainvillea, ranging from the common Pink to the rare lovely Mary Palmer which blossom throughout the year. Although the school was established primarily for the benefit of children belonging to the IAF personnel, it has always been open to wards of Army and Navy personnel as well as to Civilians. Thereby it satisfies a long felt need of the Air Force personnel and simultaneously provides quality education to a much wider spectrum of children, from all over the country. The Air Force School is a co-educational public school with boarding facilities for boys of classes VI to XII. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and is a member of the National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC). The school has been declared ISO certified in the year 2007.

Principal Message
It gives me great pleasure as the principal of The Air Force School, in extending to all our students, faculty and staff, and our greater school community a warm welcome . To my mind an educational institute is not just about bricks, mortar and concrete, but about building character, enriching minds and about varied experiences that lasts a lifetime. TAFS is a school rich in a tradition of excellence. Throughout its fifty plus years of service to the community, TAFS has consistently met and exceeded the educational needs of a diverse student populace. Our greatest assets in furthering this legacy have been our students and educators whose commitment and dedication to TAFS is evident daily in the value they together add to this rich heritage. As a principal, I can assure you that our school will continue to avail all the resources needed to further the cause for even greater student achievement. Offering our students the latest in curriculum enhancements in a safe and state of the art learning environment will continue to serve as our primary focus throughout their school years. We are sincerely committed to educate and bring up an emerging generation who possess a global perceptive and will be positive contributors to the community as a whole. It is in the spirit of meeting this challenge, that I invite all of our parents to partner with our students, their teachers and administrators in helping to pave the path to what I believe are the endless new horizons of greater student achievement. I personally look forward to seeing all of you at our school functions throughout the year.
